Shirdon's Alarm commenced racing in March 1998, winning first up at Sandown and raced until September 2000. He had only one short let up in his career. His last race was at 4 years and 4 months old.
He was extremely tough and resilient.
Shirdon's Alarm raced and beat Faithful Hawk, Reggemite and Legs Ahoy, now all successful Stud Dogs. Shirdon's Alarm led in most of his 27 wins, indicating good early pace and once in the lead was never headed indicating strength.
Shirdon's Alarm won the Heat and Final of the Darwin Cup in 2000 aged 4 1/4 years.

He raced in six major races for 1 Win and 2 Seconds.
With only a hand full of litters racing, all are winners, with more litters to hit the track in the near future.
Shirdon's Alarm produced S.A. Sprint Championship winner Dakota Emily who beat Lionhearted with her letter sister Kayla Dakota third.
Dakota Emily ran 2nd behind the very good Petite Verdot in the S.A. Oaks final with Kayla Dakota also a finalist. Kayla Dakota won 6 in a row at Angle Park scoring fastest of the night 3 weeks in a row.
